Jacksonville, December 24, 2006 - Tailgating has always seemed like an odd tradition to me. I mean, I don't find parking lots particularly good places to eat. Most people don't, I'd say, else you'd find people picnicking outside the mall. Strangely, such behavior is acceptable only before sporting events.
Well, if people enjoy it, more power to them. Still, it is incredible what some people bring. Your run-of-the-mill tailgater will of course have some food and beverages. The more prepared tailgater will bring a table and chairs, and maybe a football to toss around. It's not unusual for some to set up some sort of tent to eat under, and the most hardcore tailgaters will even lug a charcoal or gas grill to the parking lot and flip hot dogs, burgers, or even steaks.
But I never expected anyone to bring their own Christmas decorations...
