Happy New Year!

Forest Hills, December 31, 2006 - Funny that we've had our wedding picture hanging up for over ten years and never once thought to pose for another picture in front of it. Maybe ten years from now, I'll have this photo blown up and we'll pose in front of that...

Anyway, New Year's Eve was far mellower than we had expected. buoy_girl and her husband (whose idea this picture was) came in from out of town, and our friend D came all the way from Manhattan. Four of our neighbors dropped by early, as did another friend from home and her fiancé. Fun crowd, but by midnight, there were only five of us left. And even we weren't supposed to be there; we had made plans to go to another party. But there was drama! Apparently someone at that party was still hopping mad at D because that person's ex-girlfriend broke up with him over a year ago to date one of D's friends. Or something like that. Rather than abandon D, we stayed in and drank ourselves silly. (Our neighbors were supposed to come back and join us in our silliness, but they bagged. Oh, well. That just meant more champagne for the rest of us.)
