Nyack, New York, May 12, 2007 - This past weekend I took a 6-mile hike up and down the Palisades north of Nyack along the Hudson River with sbtorpey, oddthink, anemone, surpheon, and of course, susanofacadia. It was a glorious day for a hike: sure it was a bit hazy, and allergies I didn't even know I had flared up something awful, but the temperature was absolutely perfect. And the hike wasn't too strenuous without being too easy. (Or maybe it was too easy after all; it was easy enough for 8-months pregnant anemone to keep up, at least.)
Anyway, I was pretty good at getting all the photographs uploaded quickly. They're not my best pictures; they're the type of pictures that are mostly of interest only to the people in them. Or so I thought. A few days after uploading, most of them have between 3 and 12 or so views. Pretty typical for random photos. Except for the one I have here. That's gotten 101 views so far. I have no idea why. I mean, I like the photo, and it might be the best photo of the lot, but it's still rather mundane as photos go. Yet it's gotten more views in three days than 90% of my photos have ever gotten total. If it were a photo of a celebrity, or a funny sign, or a scantily-clad woman (or especially a scantily-clad celebrity holding a funny sign), I'd understand. But as of now it's a mystery. Is there something magical about this photo that I'm just not seeing? Or are there lots of people out there who *really* like photos of pregnant women?
