One of the most important things I've done to prepare for our baby is to buy a new camera
. Oh sure, I still like my old point-and-shoot
, and I'll still use it when I want a camera I can slip into my pocket, but Sue decided I needed a better camera so I could take better baby pictures. Who was I to argue?
I've taken tens of thousands of pictures in my lifetime (and I plan to upload them all to my Flickr page
eventually), but this is the first SLR camera I've ever owned, and there's a big learning curve ahead of me. And it's going to be very easy to disappear down the rabbit hole of new lenses and filters and tripods and all sorts of expensive accessories. So far I've resisted, but then again, since I didn't get to go skiing at all this winter, this could be my substitute expensive hobby...
